Nectar Mattress Review

Our Review

Over the years, Nectar has become one of the most popular online mattresses there is! Their ‘Flagship’ mattress is by far their most popular This model is all foam and features three individual layers, including a memory foam comfort layer that conforms closely and evenly throughout the body.

This Flagship model is perfect for those who want to feel cradled by their bed, or to feel as though they are sleeping ‘in’ the bed and not ‘on’ the bed. This model is also perfect for couples as the foams used in the construction of the mattress absorb energy, which helps in the transfer of motion. So when your partner rolls over in the middle of the night, you won’t feel a thing!

The foams allow your body to contour to the mattress, relieving stress on pressure points throughout the body. This is a major plus and one that makes the Nectar mattress so very popular.

Nectar Sleep offers two other mattresses, one called the Nectar Premier and one called the Nectar Premier Copper. These models measure 13” and 14” and land on a six on the firmness scale (medium-firm).

Construction & Quality

The memory foam construction makes the mattress completely silent. It won’t transfer motion and won’t hear a peep when moving around on the mattress.

The three layers of memory foams used are all breathable and will allow air to flow through the open cell construction of the foam. This will regulate your body temperature and have you sleeping cool and comfortably all night long.  Many memory mattresses are made from ‘closed cell’ memory foams. These are typically less expensive foam mattresses. If you are one who has found a prior memory foam mattress to sleep rather hot, you will find that this mattress does the exact opposite and you will sleep rather comfortably.

The design is geared towards individuals who are 230 or less. If you weigh more than 230 pounds, you may find that you ‘sink’ into the mattress a little more than normal. If you are 230 or under, you will reap the benefits of the three layer memory foam construction. Relieving stress from pressure points and relieving any pressure that is placed on the body.

When a memory foam mattress such as the Nectar mattress is shipped to you, you may find that when unboxing the mattress, there is a strong odor. This is because of how the memory foam is constructed. The release of that odor typically dissipates with the Nectar mattress within 24-72 hours of unboxing the mattress. This is called off-gassing. It is normal and will go away.

The Nectar mattress top layer is a 3-inch comfort layer of memory foam. With a medium firm (6) on the firmness scale, the mattress won’t cradle your body as much as some other, less firm mattress on the market. Most sleepers will notice that the mattress contours very well to the body. The memory foam is infused with a cooling gel, again, allowing you to sleep cool and comfortable.

Just under that 3” memory foam top layer is a 2” transitional layer of soft polyfoam. This provides reinforcement and prevents you from sinking into the mattress.

The base layer is what is called the ‘support core’ and it is made up of 7” high density polyfoam. This layer ensures that the two layers above are well supported and doing their job!

Encased in a cover made up of polyester, nylon and polyethylene, the cover is durable and quite resistant to rips.
